WHAT IS CARROT OIL?

Carrot oil (Daucus Carota Sativa) or carrot root extract is a natural plant oil produced by the orange root of the carrot plant. Through cold-pressing where  the natural oils and juices are seperated from the fibrous parts of the plant.

 Carrot oil is not the same as carrot seed oil. Carrot oil comes specifically from the carrot plant’s root and contains a high amount of vitamins and minerals. Carrot seed oil comes from distilled wild carrot seeds and contains different vitamins and antioxidants.

 Carrot oil is thick orange-coloured oil and the carrot macerate often comes mixed with carrier oil such as sunflower oil. 

Carrot seed oil is a winner when it comes to anti-aging effects. Combining skin-mending vitamin A, collagen-boosting vitamin C and moisturizing vitamin E, this essential oil helps smooth lines and repair sun damage, scars and any other skin trauma. Its antifungal and antibacterial properties might help with skin infections. Some skin conditions like eczema often have extra Staphylococcus bacteria. Carrot seed oil might help relieve eczema by fighting it. Some people also add carrot seed oil to shampoo and conditioner to help nourish their scalp.
